FAQ - Candle Care
How do I prevent wax from pooling on the sides of my candle?
Burning a candle for 1-2 hours at a time is the best way to prevent wax from pooling on the sides of your candle. Make sure to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges to create a "memory burn" that will help keep the wax pooling in the center of the container.
How long should I burn my candle?
A: We recommend burning your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Burning your candle for too long can cause the wax to become overheated and start to smoke or discolor, as well as reduce the life of the wick.
How do I keep my wick trimmed?
Before every burn, it's important to keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. This helps ensure that the candle burns evenly and keeps the flame from becoming too large. Use a pair of scissors or a wick trimmer to trim the wick.
How do I clean up spilled wax?
Spilled wax can be a hassle to clean up. The best way to remove wax is to let it cool completely and then gently scrape it off with a dull knife or spoon. If it is still difficult to remove, you can place a piece of paper towel over the wax, then gently press an iron on top of it to melt the wax. The paper towel will absorb the wax, making it easier to remove.
